Nicki Minaj responds to Boris Johnson after being mentioned in coronavirus press conference
Nicki Minaj has responded to UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson after he mentioned her during yesterday's (14 September) coronavirus update.
Over the past couple of days Nicki Minaj has been criticised for her tweets after writing that her cousin's friend "became impotent" after getting the COVID vaccine, and added that she didn't want to get vaccinated just to attend the Met Gala, and if she does get vaccinated it'll be "once I feel I’ve done enough research".
During yesterday's (14 September) coronavirus briefing at Downing Street, UK Chief Medical Officer Chris Whitty was asked about Minaj's tweets, leading him to respond, "There are a number of myths that fly around … some of which are just clearly ridiculous and some of which are clearly designed just to scare. That happens to be one of them. That is untrue."
He added, "There are also people who go around trying to discourage other people from taking a vaccine, which could be life-saving or preventing them from having life-changing injuries. And many of those people, I regret to say, I think know that they are peddling untruths. But they still do it. In my view, they should be ashamed."
Following Whitty's response, Boris Johnson added, "I'm not familiar with the works, or not as familiar with the works of Nicki Minaj as I probably should be, but I am familiar with Nikki Kanani, a superstar GP of Bexley."
Minaj reposted a clip of the UK Prime Minister mentioning Minaj during the press conference, and wrote, "I love him even tho I guess this was a diss? The accent ugh! Yassss boo!!!"

Shortly after Minaj then posted a voice note to Twitter, which saw her respond to Johnson while imitating a British accent. Minaj said, "I was just calling to tell you that I thought you were so amazing on the news this morning, and I'm actually British. I was born there, I went to university there. I went to Oxford. I went to school with Margaret Thatcher, and she told me so many nice things about you. I'd love to send you my portfolio of my work - since you don't know much about me - I'm a big big star in the United States!"
Minaj wrote alongside the recording, "send this to the prime minister & let him know they lied on me. I forgive him. No one else. Only him."

Hours later Minaj then got into an argument with Piers Morgan, who called Minaj "one of the rudest little madams I've ever met", leading her to call Morgan a "stupid piece of shit".
