Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds to reissue 14 albums on vinyl
Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds are to re-release 14 classic albums on 180gm heavyweight vinyl over the next year or so. The first seven are due before 2014's end, and the remainder will be released in 2015.
The news arrives swiftly on the back of Nick Cave's solo EU dates.
The first reissues will be From Her To Eternity, The Firstborn Is Dead, Your Funeral… My Trial, Nocturama, Abattoir Blues/The Lyre Of Orpheus, DIG, LAZARUS, DIG!!! and Kicking Against The Pricks, and they will be out 27 October.
As the press release notes, the reissue series "follows the acquisition in 2013 of the Mute Records catalogue by BMG..."
All of the records have been remastered, overseen by founding Bad Seed, Mick Harvey. Everything else will remain true to the original releases, from liner notes to artwork.
BMG's Didier Dehauteur released a brief statement:
“The Bad Seeds catalogue is a precious piece of rock history. We are determined to deliver a set of reissues which genuinely pay tribute to a seminal band.”
