Nick Cave announces new project Seven Psalms
Nick Cave has announced his forthcoming project Seven Psalms, which will feature seven spoken word pieces by Nick Cave set to music by Warren Ellis.
Seven Psalms will include seven spoken word tracks from Cave that features music by Ellis, as well as a 12-minute instrumental that was recorded during their Carnage album sessions.
The collection is produced by Cave and Luis Almau, and will be released as a limited 10" vinyl via his Cave Things store.
Cave said of Seven Psalms, "While in lockdown I wrote a number of psalms, or small, sacred songs - one a day for a week. The seven psalms are presented as one long meditation - on faith, rage, love, grief, mercy, sex and praise. A veiled, contemplative offering borne of an uncertain time. I hope you like it."
As well as preparing to release Seven Psalms, Cave and Ellis will also star in the upcoming Andrew Dominik-directed documentary This Much I Know To Be True next month, which is considered a companion piece to 2016's One More Time with Feeling (also directed by Dominik), and will explore Cave and Ellis' creative relationship, as well a tracks from their recent albums Ghosteen and Carnage.
