Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds share live version of "Push The Sky Away"
Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds have released a live version of "Push The Sky Away" with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra as the latest outing from their B-Sides & Rarities Part II album.
"Push The Sky Away" is the title-track of their 2013 album, and today (7 October) a previously unreleased live recording of the track with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra has been unveiled from their Film Music – Nick Cave & Warren Ellis performance at Hamer Hall in Melbourne in 2019.
Cave says, "I never had more fun on stage than with the MSO…"
Warren Ellis adds, "Beautiful hometown Melbourne Symphony Orchestra - one of the best shows of my life."
B-Sides & Rarities Part II is the long-awaited follor-up to 2005's B-Sides & Rarities Part I. It will feature 27 rare/unreleased tracks from 2006-2020, including the first recordings of "Skeleton Tree", "Girl In Amber" and "Bright Horses".
Cave said of the album in August, "I always liked the original B-Sides & Rarities more than any of our other albums. It’s the only one I’d listen to willingly. It seems more relaxed, even a bit nonsensical in places, but with some beautiful songs throughout. There is something, too, about the smallness of certain songs that is closer to their original spirit."
