New Seattle record store sells vinyl by weight

“Sound by the pound” is the well-chosen slogan of a new pop-up record shop in Seattle that sells vinyl LPs by their weight.
Yes, much like traditional butcher shops, the store shifts “prime beats” for $1.03 a pound and “choice cuts” for $1.46. The venture is inspired by alike stores in Berlin.
“I realized that it wasn’t a good idea in real life but I still wanted to do it, and this was a good opportunity… I thought: ‘Why not realize my dream and make a record butcher shop?’” the store’s Chris Campbell told The Seattle Times.
Elpee’s Beat Shop opened in Seattle last week.
