New Ryan Adams album Ashes & Fire due in October
Having parted ways with long-term backing band The Cardinals, Ryan Adams returns on October 10 with a brand new solo record. Ashes & Fire was produced by Glyn Johns, father of Ethan who famously helmed Adams’ first two solo efforts Heartbreaker and Gold. Perhaps more notably, Glyn Johns is of course responsible for producing some of the finest records of the past forty or so years having worked with the Faces, The Beatles, Bob Dylan and The Rolling Stones to name just a few. Perhaps Ashes & Fire will be the record that Adams fans have been screaming out for after spending the past few years treading water with a handful of lacklustre releases. Only time will tell.
Ashes & Fire will be the first new studio material released via Adams’ own PAX-AM label. He left the Universal owned Lost Highway records after the poorly received last full-length Cardinology in 2008.
