UPDATE: No new Radiohead music in Inherent Vice, revealed to be (most of) Supergrass
UPDATE: Jonny Greenwood has confirmed that the band didn't play it. Supergrass (or 2/3 of Supergrass) did.
@pitchfork except it's really a half idea we never made work live. I rewrote it and got supergrass to play it. It's good, but not very rh!

It's common knowledge that Jonny Greenwood is scoring Paul Thomas Anderson's new film, Inherent Vice (based on the novel by Thomas Pynchon), but reports suggest that Radiohead have a new track tucked into the film called "Spooks".
The film recently had a press screening ahead of its December release, and Radiohead are confirmed in the credits, according to Slate. They also point out that it bears the same moniker as an instrumental track from 2006.
While you're letting that awesome-bombshell sink in, have a watch of the trailer below. It's narrated by Joanna Newsom and features perhaps the best muttonchops this side of Queen Victoria's reign.
