New Daft Punk single breaks streaming record on Spotify
If you haven’t heard the new Daft Punk single, ‘Get Lucky’, then it seems you’re in a minority, as the track breaks a record on music-streaming platform Spotify.
‘Get Lucky’ broke the Spotify record for most streams globally on its first day last week, the company reveals. The previous record holders in the United States were Macklemore’s ‘Thrift Shop’ and Bastille’s ‘Pompeii’ in the United Kingdom.
As exciting news as this might be, sadly exact figures haven’t yet been released. Director of label relations, Will Hope believes that Daft Punk’s upcoming LP Random Access Memories (which includes ‘Get Lucky’) will be “one of the biggest, if not the biggest, on Spotify this year.”
