New Arcade Fire music due on 9 September?
Arcade Fire will release new music this September, according to a source close the band.
Revolt.tv, the media network owned by Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, revealed the news earlier, confirming the source had spoken to them directly, also explaining the probable record has “been recorded in multiple locations over the course of the last year”.
It’s almost three years since the band’s last record, 2010′s Grammy-winner The Suburbs, and it’s widely known that LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy is involved in the album in some way – either as producer or, in Murphy claims, more of a ‘creative consultant’. The producer of The Suburbs, Markus Dravs, also has a role in shaping the record’s sound.
At a show last December, the Montreal band performed a number of new track under the name ‘Les Identiks’, with the material having a ‘fun, dance-y and groovy’ sound according to Arcade Fire Tube.
The band’s drummer Jeremy Gara also revealed the band’s plans for a late-2013 release in a Rolling Stone interview last October.
