Never Mind The Buzzcocks cancelled by BBC after over 18 years on air
Longtime BBC Two panel show Never Mind The Buzzcocks has been axed after the best part of two decades on TV screens.
The music based comedy series featured a range of big name stars in its run, including Amy Winehouse, Rizzle Kicks, The 1975's Matty Healy, The Ordinary Boys' Preston, and, infamously, Huey Morgan. Watch Morgan obliterate a mug at the bottom of the page.
The show ran for 28 series, totalling 269 episodes.
A BBC spokesman said to Broadcast:
"After 28 series we've decided not to bring Never Mind The Buzzcocks back to the BBC. This will create space for new entertainment formats in the future. We'd like to thank the team at Talkback, Rhod Gilbert, all the brilliant hosts over the years and of course Noel and Phill for the years of enjoyment they've given BBC Two viewers."
Mark Lamarr hosted up to series 17, with Simon Amstell taking the reins for series 19-22. Series 18 and 23-27 featured guest hosts The final host was Rhod Gilbert.
Phill Jupitus was one of the team captains for the entire run of NMTB, with various opponents including Noel Fielding, Sean Hughes and Bill Bailey.
