Netflix reportedly developing own documentary on Britney Spears
Following the release of Hulu's Framing Britney Spears documentary, Netflix are reportedly developing their own documentary on the popstar.
As Bloomberg reports, Netflix have their own documentary on Britney Spears in the works, and have recruited Erin Lee Carr to direct.
News of Netflix's documentary arrives shortly after the release of Hulu’s Framing Britney Spears documentary, which highlighted the singer’s current conservatorship arrangement, the #FreeBritney movement, and even resulted in Justin Timberlake apologising to Spears for how he treated her.
Bloomberg also notes that this isn't the first time Netflix and Hulu have released competing documentaries, after both services released documentaries on Fyre Festival in 2019.
Carr’s Spears documentary was already underway before Framing Britney Spears debuted earlier this month, and is yet to get a release date.
