Netflix reportedly buys Kanye West documentary that's been over two decades in the making
Netflix has reportedly bought a Kanye West documentary that's been in the works for over two decades.
The Kanye West documentary, according to Variety, is a series that covers over two decades of his life and work, including his rise to fame, his music and fashion career, last year's presidential bid, the loss of his mother and more.
While Billboard reported that Netflix has acquired the documentary for $30 million from TIME Studios and film production duo Coodie & Chike (who directed West's "Jesus Walks (Version 3)" and "Through the Wire" videos), Variety notes that a source has stated that the $30 million figure is not accurate.
The currently untitled documentary series is reportedly planned for release this year, but a spokesperson for Netflix declined to comment.
