Currently marking the 20th anniversary of his debut album Illmatic, Nas has revealed he’s also got one eye on the future, currently working on his next LP release.
Speaking to NPR recently, the Queens rapper confirmed that he’s to team up with Timbaland, Swizz Beatz, and No I.D for the record, which he started work on a year and a half ago.
“It felt really powerful and I stepped back from it… I felt like I needed to be inspired,” Nas says of the follow up to 2012’s Life Is Good.
No release date is yet set, but we’ve already heard one track that could feature on it, with Timbaland previously teasing “Sinatra in the Sands”, featuring Jay Z and Justin Timberlake.
