Mystery Jets' Blaine Harrison gives health update after postponing album and UK tour
Mystery Jets vocalist Blaine Harrison has shared an update on his health after he had to postpone their album release and UK tour to undergo surgery.
Harrison said in the original statement, "Early on Saturday morning I awoke with a swelling in my thigh and a temperature in the high thirties. Upon arrival at A&E I was put straight onto the emergency operation list to halt an infection close to my bone from spreading around my body."
Today (26 September), the band have shared a second statement with an update on Harrison's health. He writes, "I'm delighted to say that after two rounds of surgery and a week's stay under the watchful eyes of the incredible nurses of the St Mary Abbott's Ward at Chelsea and Westminster hospital, I am now happily home and healing up."
As well as thanking the NHS, Harrison adds, "My road to resumption will almost entirely consist of hanging out in my pyjamas on the couch for the next few months, but to make the most of that time we are going to be exploring the themes of the album in other ways, details of which we are hyped to share with you soon."
