Mykki Blanco gives album update, says she's "ready to drop all this unreleased music"
Mykki Blanco has given an update on her follow up to 2016's Mykki, revealing she's "ready to drop all this unreleased music".
It's nearly been three-and-a-half-years since Mykki Blanco released her last LP Mykki. Since then she's featured on a Charli XCX remix, collaborated with J-E-T-S, starred in a recent Madonna video, and more.
Yesterday (8 March) on Twitter, Mykki Blanco shared some news about her new album, revealing "there's a pretty good chance my album may come out on a major label", and adding, "I've worked really really hard on this record and this kind of "record deal limbo" is really..something!"
so theres a pretty good chance my album may come out on a major label and this has been the most exciting my anxiety filled past few months.

I've worked really really hard on this record and this kind of "record deal limbo" is really..something!
She goes on to reveal that people have been constantly asking her about the new record, adding, "I HAVE SO SO MUCH TO BE GRATEFUL FOR .... and if the record does end up being released by a major that will totally shift the playing field for me, but this limbo I'm in right now isn't easy to handle all the time."
people have asked me over and over at this point "Mykki wheres the record". "Mykki I've heard you worked with so and so", "Mykki someone played me a link of your album and its the best work you've done yet whens it being released"

Mykki Blanco also expresses gratitude for working on fashion campaigns and earning money, but emphasises that her main focus is music, "I've made A LOT of music actually and I want it to be released properly." In another tweet, she writes, "I'm happy people are willing and wanting to work with me without having new music out. But I'm a musician and I've worked a lot these past two years and I'm ready to drop all this unreleased music."
I'm not an "Instagram person" you know I make songs, I do things, I make quality things and modeling in a few fashion campaigns is fun and it visibility is great and money is great but I make music, I've made A LOT of music actually and I want it to be released properly

So ya know, I think brand partnerships are great and I'm grateful for them, and I'm happy people are willing and wanting to work with me without having new music out

Wrapping up her stream of tweets, Blanco adds, "these kind of label deals I am learning take longer than I thought and so yes I wanted to let my fans and the people who do enjoy my music know what in the hell is taking so damn long."
