My Morning Jacket announce new album The Waterfall
My Morning Jacket have announced their first record in four years, The Waterfall.
This new album follows 2011's lauded Circuital.
It was recorded at California's Stinson Beach. Speaking about the record, primary songwriter Jim James said:
“For me, every record has the spirit of where we made it... Stinson Beach was so psychedelic and focused. It was almost like we lived on our own little moon out there. It feels like you’re up in the sky.”
The group's Bo Koster added:
“Out of all the places we’ve recorded, I think that place might have informed the record on a spiritual level more than any other... If you listen to ‘Like A River,’ it just sounds like Stinson Beach.”
The Kentucky band were recently added to the lineup at End Of The Road Festival - more info on that can be found here. They've also revealed three more UK/Ireland shows including Dublin's Electric Picnic on 4 September, Manchester's The Ritz on 6 Sept, and London's O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire on 7 Sept. Tickets will be onsale from 9 March.
The Waterfall will be release on Star Wars Day, (4 May) on ATO Records. If you pre-order the record now, you'll get a download of "Big Decisions" for free.
