October saw the much debated Live Music Act become law in the UK, and to judge exactly what this was going to mean for gig goers, we invited Andy Inglis - live music expert and co-founder of legendary venue The Luminaire – to enlighten us on the law’s ins and outs. In an article published in collaboration with UK music business information hub Music Tank, Andy explained the changes that the law would put in place and discussed the pros and cons of the current state of the live music industry.

Andy and Music Tank are now set to join forces once again, as Music Tank and the University of Westminster invite music industry professionals and fans alike to a series of lectures which will focus on ways to work in this very complicated industry in an ever changing musical climate.
The lecture series, entitled Get Plugged In: Live Music, Promotion and Venue Management Course will feature guest appearances from End of the Road‘s Sofia Hagberg, Ross Allmark (Old Blue Last/Birthdays/Vice), Ruth Barlow (Beggars Group) and Carina Jirsch (Schoneberg Concerts) and will be chaired by the author of the article in question, Andy Inglis.
Music Tank are offering The Line of Best Fit’s readers a £30 discount on the event tickets by using the following promo code: LOBFLIVE13. Tickets must be booked by 5pm 26 January in order to receive the discount.
