Murkage Dave unites with Caroline Polachek on new song "Awful Things"
London singer/songwriter Murkage Dave has joined forces with Caroline Polachek on new track "Awful Things", and has also released a second song titled "Please Don’t Move to London It’s a Trap".
"Awful Things" and "Please Don't Move to London It's a Trap" are Murkage Dave's first new releases of 2021, following his 2019 collaborative album with Manga Saint Hilare titled We Need to Look After Us.
The Polachek collaboration was made during lockdown when she was stuck in the UK, and is produced by AARRT. The song follows Polachek's recent appearance on Charli XCX's "New Shapes" with Christine and the Queens last week.
"Please Don't Move to London It's a Trap" features production from Jonathan Walter. Murkage Dave says of the track, "I find that people either paint London as some kind of warzone, like there’s missiles going off every minute, or they want to airbrush out all the crud on some Hugh Grant shit like everyone is just sitting around drinking organic wine in Michelin star restaurants. I’d rather just say it as it is, it may not be as pretty a picture or maybe it doesn’t fit the stereotype that some might like to consume but I feel like I've gotten closer to the truth, which is all I know how to do."
