Mumford & Sons' 9 month old album tops the UK charts again following Glastonbury headline set
Mumford & Sons’ second studio album, Babel has topped the charts once again after the group’s Sunday night headlining slot at Glastonbury Festival 2013.
The folky foursome shot back into the No.1 albums spot in this week’s UK charts, climbing 15 places. This is despite the record being over 9 months old and having spent 41 weeks in the charts since its release back in September 2012. Babel finished the week just 125 copies ahead of Michael Bublé’s previous chart topper To Be Loved making it a very close call.
Other Glastonbury acts have also seen a big increase in sales. Arctic Monkeys and the Rolling Stones have skyrocketed into this weeks best seller list after their festival headliner slots. The Sheffield band’s 2006 debut Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not has received a 8,431% rise against sales of the previous week, marking the biggest leap of albums in the chart.
