Mudhoney to perform from top of 600ft Seattle Space Needle building
It used to be a matter of what size venues you can fill, now it seems to be that bands are competing over the highest building they can perform from.
After Yeah Yeah Yeahs recently filmed a music video from the roof of the Empire State building, now Mudhoney have announced that they will be performing atop the Space Needle in Seattle next week.
The grunge veterans will throw a party on 11 July from the peak of one of the tallest buildings in North America to mark the 25th anniversary of their record label, and iconic Seattle institution, Sub Pop. The concert will take place 605ft from the ground.
Examiner say Mudhoney will “be safely tethered on the top of the famous Seattle landmark playing the music that made the city famous in the early ‘90s.”
The news is the latest in a string of celebratory events Sub Pop have announced recently, including a festival, compilation release, their own range of footwear and a makeover of a local hotel.
