MOURN release first single of 2020 "Call You Back"
Spanish group MOURN are back with "Call You Back", the group's first single of 2020.
"Call You Back" is MOURN's first release since last year's Mixtape EP, and arrives with a visual created while in lockdown during the coronavirus pandemic.
MOURN's Carla Pérez Vas tells Billboard of the new release, "We had thought about locations like the woods and a pool, or riding bikes, all the time wearing a poker face. The song is about when around you everything is beautiful, but you have this constant battle going on inside of you."
She adds, "Parts of the song talk about the anxiety of phone calls and the emotions around them. It’s pretty ironic that now we are looking at the phone all day, and everyone is anxious. If I’m not connected, I feel like I should be talking to my friends or family."
The band are yet to follow up their 2018 LP Sorpresa Familia.
