Mount Eerie unveils new Julie Doiron collaboration "Belief pt. 2"
Mount Eerie has shared new song "Belief pt. 2", lifted from his forthcoming collaborative album with Julie Doiron, Lost Wisdom pt. 2.
"Belief pt. 2" is the second offering to be shared from Lost Wisdom pt. 2, after last month's lead single "Love Without Possession".
The new single is the closing track from their second collaborative album.
Mount Eerie says of the new single, ""Belief pt. 2" is the last song on the album. It comes at the end of a meandering path through uncertainty, devotion, sad reminiscence, hopeful idealism; songs coursing over uneven terrain."
Lost Wisdom pt. 2 will be their first collaborative album since 2008's Lost Wisdom.
Speaking about working with Julie Doiron, Mount Eerie, aka Phil Elverum, says, "In a grab for deeper continuity, I called and asked Julie Doiron if she could join me in the recording. She has been my favorite singer since 1993 when I first heard her band Eric’s Trip and subsequently devoted my life to music and art. This 26 year path from teenage obsession to collaborator has made me feel very fortunate. We made another record in 2008 called Lost Wisdom, more flames, more love, more turmoil. Now we get to do some more singing and playing together."
