It looks like Morrissey will be playing a hometown show in Manchester this July, as the singer is set to be announced for the city’s Summer In The City festival.
The quasi-announcement was made on BBC Radio 6 Music earlier today, as Larry Gott from James inadvertently blurted out the previously-unconfirmed plans.
A spokesperson from the festival has distanced themselves from the rumours but Manchester Evening News are certain the headline slot will be unveiled in the coming weeks.
Summer In The City festival runs this year at Castlefield Bowl from 10-11 July.
