Morrissey lands himself in more hot water after goading newspaper
Morrissey has landed himself in another vat of hot water after goading German paper Der Spiegel into releasing the unedited recording of his recent controversial interview.
The erstwhile Smiths frontman, currently on a hot streak of awfulness, recently declared an end to his time as a print interviewee. He caught deserved flak after a particularly troubling interview with Der Spiegel in which he made some poorly-thought-out comments about alleged sexual abusers Harvey Weinstein and Kevin Spacey.
Earlier this week Morrissey made an attempt to clear the air by basically denying it all and saying his words were twisted, then saying that Der Spiegel's refusal to air the full, unedited recording of the interview was evidence of their lies.
Obviously, they've put out the full, unedited recording. And it doesn't do Moz many favours.
Listen back to the interview audio.
This is far from the first time that Morrissey has found himself at the centre of controversy in 2017 - as well as seemingly defending Harvey Weinstein and Kevin Spacey, he recently appeared to voice support for UKIP leadership candidate Anne Marie Waters. As well as that, he's made a ridiculous statement about the Manchester terrorist attack and drawn criticism for attempting to sell an offensive piece of merch featuring civil rights activist and author James Baldwin.
