Morrissey claims first album since being dropped by label is "the best album of my life"
Today (31 May) Morrissey announced his upcoming album Bonfire Of Teenagers (his first since being dropped by his label last year), and has predictably called it "the best album of my life".
Bonfire Of Teenagers, completed in LA, marks Morrissey's first album since he was dropped by BMG Records late last year, and unsurprisingly he's provided a bit of a self-centred quote to go with it: "The worst year of my life concludes with the best album of my life."
News of his upcoming album arrives shortly after A$AP Rocky revealed he's been working with Morrissey on his new album All Smiles. According to Rocky, Morrissey has been "writing, producing, and contributing vocals" to the album, and added of Morrissey himself, "Anything you need him to do, he show up and do."
Although Morrissey hasn't revealed why the past year has been his "worst" - it's probably got something to do with the pandemic and his preditable annoyance towards The Simpsons' recent Panic on the Streets of Springfield episode, which parodied Morrissey and led him to describe the episode as a "taunting lawsuit", adding, "but one that requires more funding than I could possibly muster in order to make a challenge."
