MONEY's Jamie Lee takes independent stance on music, shares untitled new track
Jamie Lee of MONEY has shared an untitled, lo-fi track with a post in which he states he's "going to work with people I want to and release music whenever the f*ck I want to."
The muffled new track from MONEY's frontman Jamie Lee arrives without a name. In his accompanying Instagram post, Jamie Lee explains, "Here's a new song. Couldn't even be bothered to think of a title."
He adds the new track was "recorded by Martin Maddox - you can hear him shouting from down the hall to begin the take. One Take Records."
His Instagram post details the reason behind his lack of new music, "One of the reasons I stopped making music was because the efforts expected of me did not fit with how I felt about art. I appreciate the opportunities I have had but they also stifled the actual quality and meaning of the work. I doubt the industry really care about you (of course, I have also been lucky enough to meet many exceptions) just about when and where and how they can put you up on stage and make some money - it crippled me."
The musician last released a poem in 2017 responding to Brexit, and has since been posting about writing and poetry.
Jamie Lee's new stance on his approach to music is well delivered, as he explains with passion on how he wants to be received as an artist, "From now on I'm going to work with people I want to and release music whenever the fuck I want to."
