Mitski releases "The Baddy Man" from upcoming graphic novel soundtrack
Mitski has released new song "The Baddy Man" from her forthcoming soundtrack for This Is Where We Fall, an upcoming graphic novel written by Chris Miskiewicz and featuring art by Vincent Kings.
"The Baddy Man" is the first taster of Mitski's This Is Where We Fall soundtrack, which was originally announced in October last year.
Mitski's new song marks her first outing since featuring on Allie X's "Susie Save Your Love" back in February 2020.
According to Pitchfork, a Z2 representative said there are not currently any plans to make the sounndtrack available on streaming services.
When announcing the soundtrack last year, Mitski said in a press release, "It was exciting to make a soundtrack for a comic book. It allowed me to work outside of my usual songwriting form and try to approach it like a score, but without any of the cues that come with working alongside a moving image, which ended up being both freeing and challenging. I hope the end result helps to immerse you in the story!"
