Ministry Of Sound write open letter to Boris Johnson regarding potential closure
Electronic music staple, London’s Ministry of Sound venue have penned an open letter to the city’s mayor, Boris Johnson, in relation to their ongoing battle with potential closure.
The club have asked Boris to step in and make a decision on planning permission for nearby housing developments, with the mayor previously cited as saying the venue was “safe on my watch”.
The current proposal, which will see a 41-storey block of flats built right next door to the nightclub, is the second time the owners have had to face such a predicament. The same situation arose in October 2011 when the housing scheme was originally rejected by planners.
The next hearing on the issue will take place on 19 November. Read Ministry of Sound’s open letter beneath, via FACT:
