Miley Cyrus, The Raconteurs, and more withdraw from Woodstock 50
Woodstock 50 has had another few artists cancel their performances, including headliner Miley Cyrus, The Raconteurs, and more.
The festival was announced to celebrate 50 years of the iconic Woodstock festival, with the likes of Jay-Z, Miley Cyrus, The Killers, and more set to perform.
Woodstock 50 has run into multiple problems along the way, including not having the correct permits, a change of location, and a number of artists pulling out.
The event eas expected to take place in Watkins Glen, New York, but Rolling Stone reports that organisers are now trying to hold the event in Maryland’s Merriweather Post Pavilion. As of yesterday (30 July), organisers still haven't submitted a permit application for the festival, which is due to take place in just 16 days.
Yesterday (30 July), Miley Cyrus, The Raconteurs, Pussy Riot, and The Lumineers pulled out of the event. Jay-Z, Dead & Company, and John Fogerty withdrew from the festival earlier this month, and The Black Keys cancelled their appearance back in April.
The Killers, Imagine Dragons, Chance The Rapper, and more have yet to confirm if they are still performing at the festival after the recent developments.
Speaking to Billboard, John Fogerty's management stated, "John Fogerty knows where he will be for the Anniversary weekend of Woodstock. At only one site…At the original one - the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts."
Earlier this week Rolling Stone reported that if the event goes ahead, the tickets will be free.
