Miley Cyrus, Christine and the Queens and more to play Global Goal benefit concert
Global Goal: Unite for Our Future takes place this weekend, and will see a number of artists including Miley Cyrus and Christine and the Queens make an appearance.
The benefit concert is put together by Global Citizen and the European Commission, and aims to raise awareness on how the COVID-19 pandemic has disproportionately impacted marginalised communities.
Global Goal: Unite for Our Future takes place on Saturday (27 June), and will be hosted Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Performers include Miley Cyrus, Shakira, J Balvin, Justin Bieber and Quavo, Jennifer Hudson, Coldplay, Usher, Christine and the Queens, Chloe x Halle, and Yemi Alade.
According to Billboard, Cyrus, who is also due to speak during the opening summit, said of her involvement, "This moment requires all of us to act. As Global Citizens, we're calling on leaders around the world to combat the disproportionate impact COVID-19 has on marginalised communities by committing funds to develop and deliver tests, treatments, and therapeutics. Because of this global effort, we will be more able to ensure that everyone, everywhere has access to COVID-19 testing and treatment, regardless of their income or where they live."
It’s time to fight for the world we need.
