
Miley Cyrus cancels Paraguay festival appearance after plane gets struck by lightning
Miley Cyrus has cancelled her Asunciónico festival performance in Paraguay after the plane was struck by lightning and forced to make an emergency landing.
Last night (22 March) Cyrus shared an update on social media revealing that she and her team were "safe" after the plane was forced to make an emergency landing. Cyrus was travelling to Asunción in Paraguay for a festival performance when the plane was "caught in a major unexpected storm and struck by light[n]ing."
Cyrus shared a short video of the lightning from inside the plane, and shared a picture of the damage caused to the plane, writing, "We were unfortunately unable to fly into Paraguay. I LOVE YOU."

Organisers of Asunciónico festival cancelled the opening day yesterday (22 March) due to flooding, and today (23 March) organisers have shared an additional statement calling off the event. Refunds will be available to those who bought tickets.
