Mike Hadreas of Perfume Genius graces cover of Hello Mr.
Mike Hadreas, the driving force behind Perfume Genius, is on the cover of the latest issue of Hello Mr..
Described by the magazine as one of the "strongest misters" they know, he's giving an in-depth interview about New York City, working with his longtime boyfriend, painting his nails, Annie Lennox, and the influence of strong women. On the picture side of things, the magazine say that "he stepped in front of our cameras in a jumpsuit and cracking jokes as we made him eat various off-brand gas station junk foods."
Here's an excerpt from the interview:
“You’re okay. People write – will tell me secrets, and they’ll feel like their secrets are bad or somehow worse, or dirty or more shameful than everybody else’s, and they’re not. A lot of times people credit music and things that they listen to while they got over something. Somehow, that made them get better? But people don’t give themselves enough credit! I mean, I didn’t do anything! You know? I’m just cooing on the piano, and they’re like, ‘You saved my life!’ I’m like, ‘I’m pretty sure you did that.’”
Hello Mr. is a magazine and a "community of men who date men starting new conversations about their interests, loves, hopes, and fears."
This issue of the magazine, number five, also features Putnam + Putnam, Barry Marré, Daniel Franzese and Brendan Maclean.
