Micachu and The Shapes unveil new name, announce first album in five years with title-track "Shades"
Micachu and The Shapes are back as Good Sad Happy Bad, and have announced their first album in five years Shades with the title-track as the lead single.
The band, fka Micachu and The Shapes, decided to call themselves Good Sad Happy Bad after their 2015 album of the same name.
"Shades" is the first taster of their debut LP as Good Sad Happy Bad, and is the title-track from the album.
As Pitchfork notes, the band name isn't all that's changed. Raisa Khan is now lead vocalist, Mica Levi plays guitar, electronics and contributes some vocals, Marc Pell plays percussion, and new member CJ Calderwood is a multi-instrumentalist. The band wrote, "Like the band name the songs are either good, sad, happy or bad and sometimes either slow, fast, heavy or light, and sometimes cold, hot, warm or freezing, and sometimes tasty, nasty, bland or spicy."
