Mew premiere track via new music app
Alt-rock Danes, Mew have revealed an exclusive version of new track, ‘Making Friends’ – innovatively unveiled via an app called Sensory Spaces.
Likened to a treasure hunt, the app has been created by the band to challenge users to navigate through sounds, unlocking whole songs by unifying isolated fragments. Chasing vocals and seeking out drumbeats by moving the device, it’s a game with a new, complete song as the prize, as finishing is rewarded by the exclusive version of ‘Making Friends’ – as well as the option of playing around with the track’s elements as a bonus feature.
“Mew has always been about playing. About turning things upside down and expanding the limits of the music experience,” says guitarist, Bo Masden. ”The same applies to Sensory Spaces. We wanted to present our listeners with something different while also revealing some of the stuff that is in store.”
Sensory Spaces will be available for iPhone and iPad, free of charge, from 25 September via the app’s website. Check out its intriguing promotional video below.
