METZ and Drive Like Jehu's Swami John Reis join together for new single
Toronto punks METZ have joined forces with Swami John Reis (Drive Like Jehu, Rocket From The Crypt" for a new 7" single.
First track "Caught Up" is airing now, while A-side "Let It Rust" is still under wraps until Record Store Day (16 April). Both are released on black-with-gold-swirl vinyl.
Speaking about the release, METZ's label Sub Pop say: "While we the hard-working music industry professionals of Sub Pop Records typically wallow in lovably smug self-congratulation, at the moment we find ourselves just dizzy with professional envy at the news that METZ and Swami John Reis (Rocket From the Crypt, Drive Like Jehu, Hot Snakes) have collaborated on two deeply awesome new songs which we have no current plans to release. The 'Let It Rust' b/w 'Caught Up' 7” single will come out on Record Store Day, Saturday, April 16th, 2016 through Swami Records (and though we have nothing but affection and esteem for the Swami label and the folks who operate it, still: DIZZY!)."
METZ will play on the same bill as Reis at the Drive Like Jehu-curated ATP 2.0 festival later this month.
As well as the joint EP with Reis (released via Swami Records), METZ will be issuing a split disc with Mission Of Burma for Record Store Day. If features METZ covering MOB's "Good, Not Great" and MOB covering METZ's "Get Off".
