Metronomy's shoes, Suede's 4 track recorder and Zane Lowe's jacket added to Music Circle jumble sale
Some weird, wonderful and very rare items will be sold at a unique jumble sale later this month in London.
“Rumble in the Jumble #3″ sees bands and celebrities donating clothes and other amazing finds to raise money and awareness for women in the DRC – victims of “the world’s most forgotten conflict” – who face constant threats of forced displacement, sexual violence, abduction and extortion.
Among the donations are some interesting finds:
- Joe (Metronomy) Mount’s Repetto shoes
- Jonathan from Everything Everything’s William Richard Green shirt
- Ed Friendly Fires’ “stage dancing slippers”
- Annie Lennox’s hand-written lyrics to “Sweet Dreams”
- Suede’s four-track recorder, used for Brett Anderson’s demo of “He’s Dead”
- Shirley Manson’s shoes from the Garbage video for “Blood For Poppies”
- Alt-J’s suit
- Lauren Laverne’s Marc Jacobs dresses
- Zane Lowe’s jacket.
Jumble has also been provided by Jessie Ware, Bat For Lashes, Anna Calvi, Foals and many more. There’ll also be a selection of brand new items at jumble prices from labels such as Topman, ASOS, Sonos, Schuh and Marshall Amps.
The Music Circle was formed in spring 2011 and spearheaded by music PR Emily Cooper. Together with fellow PR Laura Martin, they invited a selection of key women across the music industry to come together and use their skills and knowledge to help raise money and awareness for important female related causes that Oxfam supports. Last year the jumble sale raised over £16,000
The event runs from midday to 6pm on Saturday, 26 April at Oval Space in London E2, Entry is £3 and visitors are also asked to donate a bag of jumble.
