Metric have announced they will be releasing a new album this year.
Apparently inspired by Blade Runner and singer Emily Haines’ desire not to be fake like a replicant, the Toronto quartet’s new record is titled Synthetica and is due for release on 12 June. The follow up to 2009’s Fantasies, their fifth studio album will be self-released in conjunction with Mom+Pop records in the US.
Update: The album will be released on 18 June in the UK.
