Mercury Prize 2016 judging panel revealed
The full judging panel for this year's Mercury Prize, the first with new title partner Hyundai, has been revealed.
Clara Amfo, Jessie Ware, and The Guardian's Harriet Gibsone have all been added to the panel.
BBC Radio 6's Shaun Keaveny says of this year's awards: “Each year the Hyundai Mercury Prize ‘Albums of the Year’ highlight some of the best in British and Irish talent – and 2016 is already shaping up to be a brilliant year for music. It’s going to be a tough decision for the judges, so I’m glad I'm not one of them! I’m really looking forward to finding out this year’s shortlist.”
The 2016 shortlist will be revealed on 4 August - find out more about this year's major shake up.
The Hyundai Mercury Prize 2016 awards show takes place 15 September at Hammersmith's Eventim Apollo. There will be live performances and a "special collaboration" to celebrate the Mercury's 25th birthday, and you can follow via the BBC's live radio and TV coverage.
