Mercury Prize 2012 shortlist revealed
The shortlist for this year’s Mercury Prize has been unveiled, with Alt-J, Jessie Ware and Lianne La Havas among the nominations.
Also nominated are the likes of Field Music, Django Django and Ben Howard.
The Mercury Prize was set up in 1992 to celebrate the best album of the year made by a British artist, with Primal Scream – Screamadelica winning the first year’s award.
Last year saw PJ Harvey win her second Mercury Prize for Let England Shake.
