Mercury-nominated pair FKA twigs and East India Youth to collaborate?
FKA twigs and East India Youth have both relayed to NME willingness to work together. With their current status as Mercury Prize nominees, it would certainly be something to watch out for.
Speaking to the publication at the ceremony, East India Youth - AKA William Doyle - said he was “far too much in awe of her to approach [FKA twigs],” but that her LP1 was “one of [his] favourites of the last few years.” Perhaps not concrete evidence, but the crackling R&B Mercury Prize favourite (dashing Royal Blood and Damon Albarn), currently at 3/1, responded with: “I’d be up for collaborating with him. I’m really wild in the studio, though. If he can handle that, why not?”
Twigs was wondering if Doyle could handle the studio time, but the better question remains: could we handle the result?
