Memphis Industries turn 13, plan celebration show at London's Koko
Run by brothers Matt and Ollie Jacob, independent record label Memphis Industries has over the years launched the careers of indie stalwarts The Go! Team and Field Music, not forgetting The Pipettes, Tokyo Police Club, Blue States and Dungen amongst many others. In this day and age of struggling major labels and independents dropping like flies, to exist for 12 months without failure is impressive feat, to reach teenage years and still manage to stay relevant is something worthy of a giant celebration: and celebrate they will.
On November 30, Memphis Industries will take over London’s cavernous Koko for a one off show featuring some of the labels brightest stars. The Go! Team, Field Music, Dutch Uncles and Colourmusic are all set to perform and there will no doubt be the odd surprise to boot. Tickets are on sale now priced at £15.
