Maya Jane Coles kicks off Boiler Room/Ballantine's True Music project EP
Boiler Room's True Music project, in association with Ballantine's, supports pioneering artists & realise their creative visions through a series of original music collaborations & remixes, live broadcast events, music videos and behind-the-scenes films.
With Maya Jane Coles at the helm, the True Music platform is travelling across South Africa, Russia and Spain, to create a remix EP working with fantastic talents in each country, starting with Johannesburg’s favourite, Culoe de Song.
The debut track from the True Music EP sees Culoe remix ‘Won’t Let You Down’, an unreleased track from Coles' forthcoming double album. Taking his signature deep, rolling house style, Culoe’s version pushes the track in a completely new direction.
Bringing this remix to life is a clip shot in Culoe’s hometown Johannesburg.
“Culoe’s remix is completely different to the original – it’s great to hear his take on it," says Coles. "He’s another independent artist who’s super passionate about making music his own way and this really comes through. Definitely looking forward to working on our future True Music releases!”
