Maya Jane Coles hooks up with Boiler Room and Ballantine's for global 'true music' project
Ballantine’s Scotch whisky and Boiler Room have announced a major new global platform called ‘True Music,’ celebrating and supporting pioneering artists known for making music born from passion, not compromise.
For their first project, True Music will work with critically acclaimed and globally renowned producer and DJ Maya Jane Coles. The True Music platform will travel across South Africa, Russia and Spain over the next five months. Along the way Coles will curate a remix EP from her upcoming 2017 album, working with her favourite True Music artists from each country, kicking off with Culoe De Song in South Africa. Each artist has been handpicked as they epitomise the philosophy of True Music in their work. The resulting EP will be a limited-edition vinyl and digital release.
Within each of these countries, major live streamed events and content will be produced, allowing the world to tune in and see Maya work with these local artists to curate a night with True Music at its core, with a line-up featuring global and local artists. Heading from Johannesburg (24 November) to Moscow in February, the shows will culminate in Madrid in early 2017 with a 2,000 capacity event.
