Matthew Herbert is releasing a limited edition "tortilla record"
Matthew Herbert's releasing a new record as part of his new Edible Sounds series... but it's nacho regular vinyl - it's pressed onto a tortilla.
Last year a video emerged of someone making an actual laser-cut tortilla disc that played music - not well, mind - and it was pretty brilliant.
Now Herbert's gone the whole enchilada and is releasing one "playable on a normal hifi... [but] unlikely to be delicious." The Edible Sound series is a commission from the Science Gallery London, with only 12 copies of this 33RPM disc available.
Herbert's dealings with food are well documented, with the producer's 2005 concept LP Plat Du Jour "created using the sounds of food preparation and production".
