Matthew E. White shares new single "Rock 'n' Roll Is Cold"
Matthew E White has revealed the lead single from upcoming record Fresh Blood; it's called "Rock 'n' Roll Is Dead", and sees him merge the worlds of Felt, folk, and country-western pop.
With dusty vox like the Americana version of Lawrence, White uses 12-bar blues motifs and brassy horns to make a deliriously upbeat escapade with road trip vibes and shuffly rhythms.
Speaking about the track, White said:
"Rock 'n' Roll is Cold is about how we continue to take the most vibrant, soulful, deep music and make it a caricature of itself. We look into it, force it to turn in on itself, force it to turn back on itself, and we lose the source, we lose the mystery, the magic, and we seem to be unaware that any of that is even happening.“
Fresh Blood is out 9 March via Domino.
