Matt Lucas and Sally Phillips to guest on Kurupt FM podcast
Bake-Off presenter Matt Lucas, and Veep actress and comedian Sally Phillips join the line-up of guests for the new season of The Kurupt FM Podkast.
An Audible exclusive, the sophomore season sees MC Grindah, DJ Beats, DJ Steves and Chabuddy G hold forth on a range of topics including politics, nature, travel and history.
MC Grindah, head of Kurupt FM, said: “The music game is changing - people don't want music anymore. They want podcasts. Am I happy that we're doing one? No. Am I proud of what we've done? Again, not really. But it's still better than any of the other podcasts out there." Chabuddy G, manager of Kurupt FM, adds: “This podcast will change your life. Satisfaction guaranteed. If you're not satisfied then we will refund your money! But before you ask for your money back just bear in mind that there's no way to scientifically prove that you're not satisfied, and it will be your word against mine”.
Here's a complete look at the six episode season:
- Nature (Guest starring Lolly Adefope) - Grindah asks the question on everyone’s lips – which is the best animal for him to get tattooed on his lower back? The guys also get to grips with global warming - or ‘warmsing’.
- TV and Film (Guest starring Matt Lucas) - MC Grindah unveils his epic biopic and the prestigious task of casting begins. The boys also conduct rigorous analysis of the best film genres, including 70’s erotica, and breakdown the best TV show on air, which is objectively, A Place in the Sun.
- Future (Guest starring Paul Chahidi) - A fully informed look at the future, featuring one of the country’s foremost scientific minds – aka Angel’s school science teacher. Steves also invents his own very specific idea of what his future holds, which could put the whole crew’s future in jeopardy.
- Politics (Guest starring Sally Phillips) - The campaign starts here! Chabuddy G launches his campaign to become Mayor of London, with a slew of sensible policies, including turning Brentford tower blocks into clubhouses, enforcing a new religion, and expanding London to encompass all of the UK.
- History (Guest starring Daniel Sylvester Woolford) - The guys take a deep, deep dive into history – well, deepish, just stuff you can Google. MC Grindah also makes a surprise announcement about his own personal history which leads to a high-stakes campaign for justice.
- Travel (Guest starring Steen Raskopoulos and Ruth Bratt) - The boys travel the world via the medium of takeaways, learning lessons on culture along the way - including the astonishing fact that many countries don’t speak English. The groups future is also thrown into question as one of the guys’ reveals his own personal travel plans.
