A documentary about M.I.A. called Matangi/Maya/M.I.A. is getting a world premiere at next year's Sundance Film Festival
Matangi/Maya/M.I.A. is directed by Stephen Loveridge and produced by Lori Cheatle, Andrew Goldman, and Paul Mezey.
According to the blurb on the Sundance website, the film is "drawn from a never before seen cache of personal footage spanning decades" and is described as an "intimate portrait of the Sri Lankan artist and musician who continues to shatter conventions."

Joan Jett and Studio 54 docs and a biopic about country musician Blaze Foley are also among the films scheduled for the annual gala in January.
