Massive Attack reveal three new songs via their "sensory music player" app Fantom
Massive Attack have updated their generative music app Fantom with brand new tracks "Come Near Me", Dear Friend", and "The Spoils".
Described as a "sensory music player", the app "remixes and reforms songs uniquely using a variety of environmental variables including location, movement, time of day, heartbeat and the integral moving image camera." Download it for free from the iTunes store.
The app originally launched at the beginning of the year with a heap of new music that eventually turned into a new EP.
The EP included collabs with Tricky, Azekel, Roots Manuva, and Young Fathers. When it was released, we were told to expect the band's next record at some point in 2016... is this app update a sneak preview, perhaps?
Massive Attack are headed to a bunch of festivals this year - they've already played London's BST Hyde Park series, and will pop back to Bristol this summer for a long-awaited homecoming extravaganza.
