Marika Hackman shares new track "Before I Sleep"
Marika Hackman's on a roll lately; she's swanned into 2015, littering the ether with choice cuts. Last week we had the glorious "Animal Fear", now we've got the very different, but equally glorious "Before I Sleep".
It's markedly different for a variety of reasons. It's a lot more lullaby-esque, for starters; the focus is on gliding guitars and Hackman's emotion-laden words, and we see atmospheres gradually build and crumble. There's obviously a lot of similarities too, but where "Animal Fear" was bordering electro-pop, this is the Hackman classic: acoustic nu-folk.
Hackman’s highly-anticipated debut LP We Slept At Last is due 16 February via Dirty Hit.
