Marie Dahlstrom, Dan Diggas and Aligo announce new EP with lead single "Fall Down"
Marie Dahlstrom, Dan Diggas and Canadian rapper Aligo have announced their new collaborative EP 4inARow, and have released "Fall Down" as the lead outing.
"Fall Down" is the first taster of the four-track 4inARow EP, and marks the first new outing from Danish singer and producer Dahlstrom since October's "Good Thing" featuring Linda Diaz, Elijah Fox and Aligo.
Dahlstrom also collaborated with Dan Diggas prior to the 4inARow EP on September's "No Drama", which also featured J Warner.
Speaking about the lead single, Dahlstrom says, ""Fall Down" is an ode to arguments that can be common at times, but left untreated could ruin a relationship. Like autumn, this song is a transition period to a colder and more challenging part of the year and symbolic of the changes that can occur when this happens in relationships: 'consequences get the best of you'."
4inARow began as an experimental project in which the collaborators/housemates aimed to create four tracks across four nights. All the songs were recorded between 8pm and midnight across those four days in January 2020, with Dan Diggas leading on production while Dahlstrom and Aligo shared vocal duties.
Aligo says of the recording process, "Marie and I lived in the JFH flat for a little over a year and after a few months we figured out a way for us to really tap in and make music together. We told ourselves every night for four straight days we are going to tackle a pack of beats that Dan made while he was on tour with Mahalia. Theme-wise there wasn't a plan at first but we knew we wanted to explore different emotions and feelings with each night that passed. By the end we noticed the songs came together in a cohesive way that demonstrated a four stage cycle of love/relationships."
